APC demand attest of PDP spokesperson over ‘Kano attack’

The Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has demanded that the Police and the Department of State Services immediately detain Debo Ologunagba, the national publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for questioning on the fabricated attack on President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a statement released on Monday, Bayo Onanuga, the Director, Media of Publicity of APC PCC, claimed that the fabricated attack on Buhari could have occurred only in Ologunagba’s futile imagination.

He claimed that the PDP may have plotted to embarrass Buhari in Kano and then blamed Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state and Tinubu, much as the PDP has been masterminding fake news against the APC presidential candidate and attempting in vain to foment discord in the party.

According to Onanuga, the Nigerian people should ignore such false information coming from a party that has lost touch with reality and is feeling the pain of breaking its rules on power rotation.

He stated, “We were not surprised to read of the imaginary attack on the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria being peddled by the Peoples Democratic Party since the party has nothing tangible to tell Nigerians from its crumbling Presidential Campaign.

“This is because PDP has of recent morphed from being a Buhari virulent critic to strangely becoming a Buhari spokesperson ! The last time it issued a self-serving misinterpretation of Asíwájú’s statement in Abeokuta as an attack on President Buhari.”

Onanuga said that it was likely that the PDP, through its paid operatives, would organise criminals to stage-manage an attack.

The APC stated its confidence in the ability of the security authorities to prevent any attack on the President, adding that anyone caught in such a scheme at this time or in the future would only have themselves to blame.

The ruling party emphasised that it should be evident to Nigerians that the PDP and their candidate have gone into a frenzied hallucinatory mode in which they are making up lies and fabrications against the APC and their candidate.

He then called for the PDP National Publicity Secretary to be arrested and questioned by authorities over the fabricated attack, saying, “We call on the security agencies, especially the Police and Department of State Services, to immediately arrest him.”

According to Onanuga, the PDP is a sinking ship desperately clinging to any stray untruth and lashing out in all deluded directions to stay afloat, but ultimately failing.
